Privacy Policy

Voxa lets you talk to a voice operator that drives Claude Code on your own laptop, and calls your phone when work is done. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service, and we do not sell your data.

What we collect

  • Account identifier. An anonymous device id is created so the free trial and billing work without an account. If you sign in with Apple, we store the identifier Apple provides and, only if you share it, your email.
  • Audio and voice. During a call, your microphone audio is streamed to the voice operator to understand and respond to you, and audio is streamed back. We do not use your audio to train models.
  • Purchases. When you buy a subscription or minutes, Apple processes the payment and sends us a signed receipt so we can credit your account. We never receive your card details.
  • Basic technical data. Standard request metadata needed to operate and secure the service (for example, to rate-limit abuse).
  • Usage analytics. Lightweight product events (for example, which onboarding step was reached or that the paywall was shown), tied to your pseudonymous account id, never the content of what you say. You can turn this off anytime in Settings under Privacy.
  • Crash reports. If crash reporting is enabled in a build, crash data is collected via Sentry to help us fix bugs. It is not linked to your identity and contains no personal content.

What runs on your own device

Claude Code runs on your laptop. Your source code and files stay on your machine, they are not uploaded to us. Your phone is a line to your laptop. If you self-host Voxa from the open-source project, your data flows only through infrastructure you control.

How we use data

To provide and maintain the service: pairing your phone and laptop, running the voice operator, metering and crediting minutes, delivering call notifications, and preventing abuse. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Usage analytics can be disabled anytime in the app under Settings, Privacy.

Sharing with AI services

To power the live voice operator, your microphone audio and spoken instructions during a call, along with the session status text Voxa speaks back to you, are transmitted to Google LLC and processed by the Gemini Live API. Voxa asks for your permission in the app before your first call. This data is used only to provide the real time conversation, and under Google's Gemini API terms for paid services, it is not used to train Google's models. Google provides protection for this data that is the same as or equal to the protection described in this policy. Anthropic Claude runs on your own laptop under your own account, so your prompts to Claude Code are governed by your own agreement with Anthropic, not by us. Voxa's servers relay call audio to enable the connection between your phone and laptop, they do not store conversation audio.

Service providers

  • Apple - Sign in with Apple, push notifications, and In-App Purchases.
  • Google (Gemini) - powers the live voice operator. Receives call audio and spoken instructions during calls, as described in Sharing with AI services.
  • Anthropic (Claude) - the coding agent that runs on your laptop.
  • Sentry - crash reporting, only when enabled in a build.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and its associated data at any time from the app (Menu, then Delete account), which removes your account record and minute balance from our servers.

Children

Voxa is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the date above when we do.
